Requirements for Working Remotely


A secure configuration for working remotely must include two elements:  a secure computer and a secure connection.

Schools may have additional requirements, approved tools, or may wish to offer customized advice for secure remote access. Individuals proposing a Flex Work arrangement for working remotely are strongly advised to check with their School IT or Security Officer regarding the planned proposal.

I.          A Secure Computer - Use either:

  • Working in public spaces such as coffee shops, public libraries, airports, or hotels
  • Working with secured resources (e.g. departmental file shares, Harvard Library E-Resources, etc.)
